Interactive Light Media Installation at corner of Hotel Building. 3D Design/Visualization & DFM (Design for Manufacturing) of the Aluminum panels and custom made clusters LED light Emitters. Pattern optimization, Executed for MEDIARS LLC The artwork's intent is to bring awareness to the Earth's important element, water, because the presence of water is responsible for settlements of communities and other all living things. An expression of energy and natural beauty, the waterfall in Pasadena's Arroyo Seco, specifically the Switzer Waterfall, was the inspiration for this artwork. The interactive 47-foot-long installation "gateway" responds to people in an urban context and provides the experience of being under a waterfall. Located on portions of the hotel's north and east facing facades, the light sculpture is composed of custom LED light modules trickles down from under the roof to above the heads of pedestrians. The installation is programmed to link pedestrians' movements near the sculpture to the animated sculpture on the building's façade.
